Charla Stevens is a Director at the law firm of McLane Middleton Professional Association. She practices Employment, Education and Health Care law. Charla is a Past Director of the HR State Council of New Hampshire. She has practiced law in New Hampshire for 37 years and has litigated cases in the state and federal courts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts and before numerous state and federal administrative agencies such as the Department of Labor, the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She also represents professionals in disciplinary proceedings before a variety of state licensing boards.
She was appointed by Governor Maggie Hassan to serve as Chair of the state Personnel Appeals Board, where she served for three years. Charla has been recognized as a leading employment lawyer by Best Lawyers, Chambers USA, New England Super Lawyers and has achieved an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
She is currently Vice-Chair of the Boards of Directors of the Granite United Way and the Southern New Hampshire Medical System and Foundation. She is also active in the leadership of the American Bar Association, Section of Litigation, having recently been elected to serve on the section's governing council. She is also a member of Section's Mental Health and Wellness Task Force.
